The Science to Action Network connects researchers, practitioners, journalists, and policymakers who are committed to preventing violence.
The Network provides a platform for direct service providers to seek and share research, and for researchers to connect with community partners. Together, we can put science to action, prevent violence, and save lives.
Postings within the network are distributed as a subscribed newsletter. No promotional emails or marketing. We promise. Topics appropriate for posting include:
Researchers interested in finding community partners to join research projects.
Researchers interested in direct service providers’ interpretation of new data or unexpected findings.
Direct service providers wanting to know “Is there any research on ______” or “What is the latest research on ___?”
Direct service providers looking for research partners to assist with evaluation or data projects.
Researchers wanting to brainstorm recruitment and retention strategies for community-based research projects.
Appropriate topics for discussion include all areas of child abuse and neglect research (e.g., epidemiology, etiology, prevention, consequences, intervention, and treatment) and the full range of relevant research issues (e.g., measurement, instrumentation, statistical analysis, ethics). The network is not open to discussions of program-related or clinical issues except as they relate to evaluation research.
The emphasis of the network is on sharing timely and helpful information rather than on the discussion of issues or sharing of opinions. For example, appropriate postings will include announcements of professional meetings and other resources, requests for information or assistance, and timely news items.
We look forward to connecting with you!
